MMA and me; day 137

So I got to the gym early to get some extra grappling in, because I couldn't stay for jiu jitsu. Just rolled for 25-30 mins, got some subs, got subbed some as well. Felt good, got some good pointers and advice from Coach Aric, and when boxing rolled around, I was well warmed up. Thanks Coach!

We started off with something different, a double jab that hit low first, to bring the opponents defense down, and high second to take advantage of their lowered defense. Finish off with a straight, and you have the opening to all of our new burst drills.
1) low 1-high 1-2-slip counter-left turn-low 1-high 1-2-catch counter-hook catch counter-right turn-low 1-high 1.
2) low 1-high 1-2-high catch counter-left turn-low 1-high 1-2-slip-slip-3-3-2-right turn-low 1-high 1.
3) low 1-high 1-2-left body catch-6-2-3-2-left turn-low 1-high 1-2-right body catch-5-3-2-right turn-low 1-high 1.
4) low 1-high 1-2-pull counter-left turn-low 1-high 1-2-roll 7-right turn-low 1-high 1.

I still need to work on my turn, and keep my upper body quieter as I turn, but I like the concept of sitting down on my jab to lower down and hit the body, then raise up to hit their unprotected head. We finished with medicine ball knockout drills. You hold a medicine ball for three minutes as your partner tries to punch it out to the ground, then switch, that is tough! Thank you Coach Troy
